On August 28, Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Jumamurad Gurbangeldiyev met with members of the delegation headed by the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Somalia to Turkmenistan Fathudin Ali Mohamed.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of proposals to establish bilateral cooperation in the field of education between the two countries. This was reported by the IIC with reference to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The Minister proposed that pupils and students from the Federal Republic of Somalia participate in international contests and Olympiads organized in Turkmenistan.
For his part, Fathudin Ali Mohamed proposed to create a legal framework for further cooperation between educational institutions of Somalia and Turkmenistan. In particular, the conversation was about the possibility of Somali youth to study in higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan in the field of oil and gas, medicine, maritime transportation.
