The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) courses started in Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Mary and Turkmenabat on March 2. The program is implemented by the US Embassy in Turkmenistan together with the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan.
The program provides entrepreneurial women with the knowledge and skills to start and expand businesses.
“We are thrilled that Turkmenistan joins more than 100 AWE participating countries this year, and Turkmen women join the community of more than 25,000 women who have already participated in the program around the world,” noted the U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Matthew Klimow.
In the coming months, program participants will take an online business course developed by Arizona State University's Thunderbird School of Global Management. They will attend weekly in-person classes and develop a business plan.
The created business plans will be presented at the final event, tentatively scheduled for June.
