The US Embassy in Turkmenistan announced the holding of the first climathon in Turkmenistan - a hackathon dedicated to the topic of climate change.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to apply.
The two-day hackathon will bring together young people to develop a Turkmen website to disseminate information about climate change.
The hackathon will provide an opportunity to learn about the causes and impacts of climate change, collaborate with peers and mentors, and create sample websites that can help mitigate the effects of climate change.
Before the hackathon, participants will undergo a series of trainings that will prepare them for the event. The training will cover topics such as climate change basics, problem identification, idea generation and presentation skills.
At the end of the climathon, participants will present their version of the website to a panel of judges consisting of representatives from government agencies, the private sector, academia, and civil society.
The jury will evaluate IT products based on their relevance, feasibility, originality, impact and scale.
The three best teams will be awarded prizes and certificates.
The project invites young people aged 18 to 30 with web development and design skills and an interest in climate change issues.
To apply, you must fill out the form by December 20th. The organizers will invite only successful candidates for an interview.
