Today in Ashgabat there was a meeting between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu.

As the “Watan” news program reported, during the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues in bilateral relations, which, based on the solid foundation of friendship and good neighborliness, are long-term and strategic in nature.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the current visit of Minister Murat Nurtleu takes place within the framework of such large-scale and significant events as the meeting of the OSCE Secretary General and the heads of the Foreign Ministries of Central Asian countries and the 16th Cooperation Forum “Central Asia - Republic of Korea”.

The head of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that these events will provide a good opportunity to determine the priorities of interstate cooperation for the future and exchange views on the areas of further multifaceted partnership.
In the context of an exchange of views on the prospects of the Turkmen-Kazakh trade and economic partnership, it was noted that there is solid potential for further building up productive ties in various industries, increasing the volume of mutual trade turnover, which demonstrates positive dynamics.
The transport and logistics sector was identified as one of the key vectors of cooperation. The parties noted that the favorable geographical location of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan creates favorable conditions for the implementation of promising joint projects in this area.
Along with this, great importance is attached to strengthening bilateral humanitarian ties. The parties agreed to continue the practice of organizing mutual Days of Culture, festivals, and deepening systematic contacts between representatives of the creative and scientific intelligentsia.
