In the city of Kerki, Lebap velayat, the construction of a new airport has been completed. As it became known to “Turkmenportal”, the grand opening of the airport complex is scheduled for June 21, 2021.
Now the equipment of the new airfield complex is being commissioned.

The new airport in Kerki is the largest infrastructure project in Lebap velayat. The facility was built by a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan - IE “Gundogdy”.

The capacity of the Kerki airport will be 100 passengers per hour. The complex of facilities of a modern air harbor is located on 200 hectares: a runway, 4 helipads, a passenger terminal with an area of more than 1,700 square meters, an air traffic control center, premises for technical and support services, a wide network of engineering communications, etc.

Kerki Airport will become the fourth infrastructure facility built as part of the implementation of the National Program for the Development of Civil Aviation of Turkmenistan for 2012-2030, in accordance with which new terminals are being built, and the existing specialized facilities and services are being reconstructed.

The commissioning of the new airport will contribute to the dynamic development of Lebap velayat, the activation of trade and economic, as well as humanitarian ties and tourism.
